State Oil, Repsol and Maersk Start Search for Oil Before Coast

PARAMARIBO - Five months after the signing of an exploration and production division agreement, State Oil and YPF Repsol of Spain are ready to start a two-dimensional seismic research before the coast of Suriname. To cut cost, State Oil and Danish Maersk, which is currently also negotiating with State Oil about a collaboration, will also conduct separate seismic research before the Surinamese coast. The ship the Polar Venturer that will be used to conduct the research is moored in Nieuwe Haven. The ship is equipped with the latest technical equipment and belongs to the seismic contractor Fugro GeoteamAS. The Polar Venturer ill start its activities this weekend.
